Can you tell us more about yourself and your condition?
“Since I’ve been 12 years of age I’ve had a back problem. And I’ve never had a chair that I can feel comfortable in and that’s what really made me look for a riser recliner chair. If I hadn’t I don’t know how I’d have gone on with this problem. When I was younger I did a lot of cycling from Birmingham to Stratford Upon Avon, all over the place really. I used to love cycling. I couldn’t ride a cycle now. No chance!
When I was at school we used to have a nurse come around and she said ‘Do you know that your spine is twisted at the bottom’? I said ‘ooh that’s what probably causing me a bit off pain though. I’ve had a lot done. I’ve had no operations. I won’t have them. I’ve refused. I’ve been to Osteopaths, I’ve had Aqua puncture, you name it I’ve done it!”
Why did you choose Willowbrook?
“There was an advert on the television about Willowbrook. We went down to Willowbrook and discussed it. They sent someone out to measure what we would like. He showed us all the patterns and everything else. We went for tapestry.”
How has your new Willowbrook riser recliner chair helped?
“He did all the measuring. I like the arms. They are the right height for me and I like the style very much. I watch the television, I read, I cuddle the dog. I like the massage very much. I have good days and bad days but in the bad days it’s there and it’s brilliant.”
