Have you ever wished that we could have warm and sunny days and chilly winter nights both at the same time? Although the heat is wonderful, sometimes when you’re trying to sleep, it can become rather unbearable, right? Luckily, there is a multitude of ways to keep cool in your adjustable bed on those warm, summer evenings. Take a look:
1) Grab Your Hot Water Bottle
We know what you’re thinking; ‘surely a hot water bottle will make me warmer?!’
Actually, hot water bottles can be great cold compresses! Simply fill it up and pop it in the freezer for the ultimate, bed-friendly ice pack!
2) Freeze Your Sheets
Simply pop your bedsheets into the fridge or freezer for around half an hour before you head to bed for a quick fix cool down. We’d definitely recommend wrapping them up in a carrier bag when you do this to avoid them getting wet and or smelly! Of course, this won’t keep you cold all night long but it is a great fast freeze for when you get tucked up!
3) Get Cold Feet
Keeping your feet cool keeps your whole body cool! Try dipping your toes into a bowl of clean, cold water before bed to cool your body down. Better still, keep the bowl by your bed so that you can take a dip whenever you get hot in the night!
4) Sleep Like An Egyptian
Apparently, Egyptians have nailed keeping cool at night. Their method involves dampening your bed sheet in cool water before going to sleep!
5) Hang Up Your Wet Sheets
Did you know, hanging a damp sheet up next to an open window can cool a whole room down?! The breeze that’s blowing inside can quickly bring down the room’s temperature. Worth a try, right?!
6) Cold Packs On Your Pulse Points
Keep it old-school with a cold compress! Apply to pulse points such as your wrists, neck or elbows for a super speedy cool down!
7) Keep The Sun Out All Day
Keeping your curtains or blinds drawn during the day time can help to prevent the sun from heating your home. If you have black-out curtains, they work even better for keeping bedrooms cool!
